Module 1: Where Every Cohort Starts

Module 1 - Prompt Engineering ran twice in January 2025: for Group 4 on 8 January, and again for Group 1 on 14 January as a repeat session.

Repeating a module is not a scheduling accident. People miss a week. People join late. And some want to sit through the first one twice, because the first time you meet prompting you are mostly trying to keep up.

It is the first module because everything downstream leans on it. Custom GPTs are instructions. Automations are instructions with a trigger attached. An agent is instructions plus permission to act. Get vague at this stage and the vagueness compounds through every module after.

The thing most people arrive believing is that a good prompt is a clever prompt - some magic phrasing that unlocks better output. It is not. A good prompt is a specific one. Who is this for, what does good look like, what should it not do. Unglamorous, and it is most of the skill.
