In Kuantan, Nobody Got a Back Row
The training room in Kuantan had exercise balls stacked in one corner and round tables instead of rows, which tells you it does not spend most of its life as a classroom. On 26 August we spent a full day in it with a group of AIA advisors, nine to five.
The seating did half the work. Round tables mean there is no back row to disappear into, and everyone faces four or five other people rather than the back of someone’s head. Hands went up early in the morning and kept going up, which is not always how a Wednesday starts.
By the afternoon each table had become its own small working group, talking through what they were building with whoever happened to be sitting beside them.
