Automating WhatsApp for a Room That Runs on It

On 4 June 2026 we ran a session with the team at an asset management company on automating WhatsApp with Claude.

The ground covered was narrow on purpose: letting AI handle inbound customer enquiries, log every message to a spreadsheet, and start outreach conversations. All of it from a browser, none of it requiring code.

WhatsApp is the right place to start with a Malaysian team, because it is where the work already is. Enquiries arrive there. Follow-ups happen there. On a busy afternoon with three conversations open at once, one of them quietly waits.

What made the room lean in was not the automation itself. It was the logging. Once every incoming message lands in a spreadsheet automatically, you can finally see the shape of your own enquiries: when they arrive, what they ask, which ones are still open. Most teams have never had that view, because the record was only ever a chat thread scrolling out of sight.

The automation saves time. The visibility is what changes decisions.

We run sessions like this in house and they are HRD Corp claimable - details are on the corporate training page. For a public session instead, see the events page.
