Build an AI Agent That Works While You Sleep

An AI agent is simply a helper that keeps working when you are not at your desk. It can answer customer questions, draft content, or watch a set of data and tell you when something changes.

The step people skip is the first one: decide what the agent is actually for. “Help with my business” is not a job description. “Reply to enquiries that come in after 6pm, and flag anything about pricing to me” is. An agent with one clear job tends to work. An agent with a vague one tends to be abandoned in a fortnight.

Then pick your tools. Make.com is where most of our participants end up, because it connects the things you already use - email, your customer list, your spreadsheet - without you writing code.

Make sure it plugs into your existing systems rather than becoming a separate island. And check on it. An agent that ran perfectly in January can quietly drift by March when a form field changes.

Start small. One job, done reliably, beats an ambitious agent that nobody trusts.

We build agents like this hands-on in the AI Automator Program, where you leave with something running rather than a set of notes.
