Your Voice Is the Interface

Your voice has quirks. Phrases you reach for, a rhythm, a level of directness. It is how people know it is you before they see your name.

It is also, in a plain sense, an interface. You send something out, something comes back, and the quality of what comes back depends heavily on what you sent.

That has always been true of people. It turns out to be just as true of AI, which is why the same tool produces something excellent for one person and something forgettable for the next. Ask a vague question and it will fill the vagueness with the most average answer available.

The people who get good results are not using secret prompts. They are being specific about who they are, what they want, and who it is for, in the same way they would brief a colleague.

Which means the skill transfers in both directions. Getting clearer with a model tends to make people clearer with each other, and that is a better outcome than any single tool.
