A Full Day With the Third Batch at an Insurance Company

On 30 June 2026 we spent a full day on AI training with a major insurance company. This was the third batch of their people to come through.

That detail matters more than anything else about the day. A company does not send a third group unless the first two came back and said it was worth the time. Word travels inside an organisation faster than any brochure does, and it travels honestly.

The room was large, with a wide spread of ages and roles, which changes what a day like this needs to be. In a team of ten with similar jobs you can move as one. In a room this size, people arrive at different starting points, and the useful thing is to make sure everybody leaves with something they can use on Monday rather than making sure everybody covers identical ground.

The other thing a bigger room gives you is peer teaching. Someone two seats away has already solved the problem you are stuck on, and they explain it in the language of your own job better than we can from the front.
