A Spreadsheet That Updates Itself
Somebody in the room admitted they open the same three price pages every morning before doing anything else. Not for long. Just five minutes. Every working day for years.
So we built the alternative in front of everyone. Make.com pulls Yahoo Finance quotes on a schedule through one of the third-party APIs that carry that data, since Yahoo retired its own public one years ago. The numbers drop into a Google Sheet, stamped with the date. By the time you sit down, the sheet is already current.
The optional third step is where it gets interesting. Feed that same data to an AI model and ask for a plain-language read on what moved and why. You still make the call. You just stop starting from a blank screen.
The pattern generalises well beyond share prices. Anything you look up on a schedule, from exchange rates to competitor pricing to your own sales figures, can arrive rather than be fetched.
Worth saying plainly: this is data gathering, not advice. What you do with the numbers is still your decision, and nobody here is qualified to make it for you.
Automations like this are where the AI Automator Program spends its time.
