A Morning News Briefing Built for You

The request sounded simple. A short briefing every morning, on the handful of subjects that actually matter to this person, with no scrolling and no gossip.

Fetching headlines is the easy half. The hard half is that not every source deserves equal weight, and a naive setup happily serves you a clickbait site next to a wire report as though they were the same thing.

The fix was a Custom GPT with opinions built in. Name the sources you trust. Name the subjects, whether finance, healthcare or technology. Say how you want it written, whether that is a serious analytical read or something lighter you can get through with coffee.

What comes back is a briefing shaped to one person rather than to an algorithm’s idea of engagement. It takes four minutes to read, which is the point.

The wider principle is worth keeping. A general tool gives general results. Ten minutes spent telling it what you actually want changes the output more than any amount of clever prompting afterwards.

Custom GPTs like this are among the first things we build in the AI Innovator Program.
